Ganesha Abhishekam is performed at Shree Veera Hanuman Temple. By offerings that include milk, honey, and other items. The ablutions symbolize spiritual purification, and each offering represents fulfillment on every level. Throughout the abhishekam, specific mantras are chanted to invoke blessings that uplift, protect and spiritually benefit us. Shree Ganesha is the son of Goddess Parvati and God Shiva. The Rigveda considers him to be the chief of Ganas host of angels (Devas), superb seer among seers. He is considered to be the Brahmanaspathi, a vedic divinity of highest order, sage among sages. As Brahmanaspathi he is personification of purity, piety and knowledge. He embodies the application of knowledge and intelligence to attain prosperity and pleasure. He leads the devotees through the path of knowledge and facilitates the progress of the devotee by removing the obstacles in his path. He is the first deity to be invoked, and worshipped before other pujas.

Worshipping Ganesha will increase strength, agility and valor. The Chaturthi (fouth) day of the Krishna Paksha (waning phase of the moon) each month is auspicious for the worship of Lord Ganesha. Sankata means distress or obstacle and hara means to destroy. Worshipping Lord Ganesha by observing a fast and witnessing the abhishekam to the Lord in the evening and taking darshan of the moon removes all sins and obstacles in the path of the devotee.
